Who Wrote This?

I don't even want to give attention to this but it's such a bummer when I see a crappy review of the shop. Since Yelp/Google allow people to write terrible posts about your business and then you can't even respond to them, I guess I will just do it here.

First of all, I don't know what to say about the "short and rude" part about the staff. As for the CD part, I guess he's implying that we burn CDs here and then wrap them up in fake packaging to sell? We actually don't have time or the means to go through all that trouble. Since he didn't actually call us to let us know what the issues were, I don't know what CDs he could be talking about. The only time we sell anything remotely to what he's describing is a small selection of 90's unofficial import rock CDs that we sell for less than half of what they're going for on Discogs and we added stickers on the front of them describing them as "unofficial import 95'" , (at this point they could be called collectors items) etc. so you know what you're buying.  Also, we do have a basement full of thousands of CDs that we sell 7 for $5. So if somehow he randomly was able to find 2 CDs that were "fake packaged and burned" down there, that is very impressive.

Shows to see 4/29 in Philly

Playing at TLA on South St tonight: Basement, Turnstile, Defeater and Colleen Green!
Stop by the shop and pick up some vinyl, who knows maybe you can get some autographs tonight.

Other good shows tonight:
The Thermals at Union Transfer
Pearl Jam at Wells Fargo Center

New Release Friday

We've got a couple great new releases just in. First up is the new King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard "Nonagon Ininity" LP (and CD) that also has a picture disc version we'll be carrying in May. Will be playing this album continuously in the shop today if you want to come by and give it a listen. For fans of: Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, King Tuff, Parquet Courts, Fuzz, etc.

Another big release today is Brian Eno's "The Ship". It's been getting excellent reviews and we can't wait to hear it. If you're into Brian Eno, we actually have a decent selection of used older Eno, Fripp, Nightcrawlers, Tangerine Dream, Klause Schulze and more electronic/ambient type records that we normally don't see too much of.

Thursday's Mood

No comment necessary.

Get your music from Repo..........or die?

Somewhere back in time long long ago in 1986 someone made this design into a tee shirt for the original Repo Records in Wayne, PA. Luckily we had one floating around the store, and we were inspired to remake this tee shirt for Repo's 30th year in business (this year). The message "Get your music from Repo.........or die" is so hardcore right?? I was able to trace the original and then painstakingly redrew all of those DOTS, then I painted it and redid the address. Next we had Awesome Dudes Printing print us up a bunch of tees. They're available in the store now for $15 a pop.

Used Thursday

Just got a small used stack of colored vinyl/ limited pressings of Kid Dynamite, Integrity, Promise Ring, Bouncing Souls, Strike Anywhere, Quicksand, Turning Point, Gaslight Anthem, Cap'n Jazz and more. Many are on our display wall in front of store. These things usually go pretty quick and are priced to sell, so get here if you're interested.
